Exposing the Myth of Evolution

SCRIPTURALLY INCOMPATIBLE

As a born again Christian, my first concern with the theory of evolution is that it is simply not compatible with the Biblical account of creation. There are many Christians who accept "Theistic Evolution" as a way to reconcile this area of science with their faith in God, but it is simply impossible to do so without abandoning my belief in the inerrancy of scripture. Ultimately, I believe that it takes more faith to believe in Evolution than it does to believe what is recorded for us in the scriptures, and both of these must be accepted by faith. We can argue all day long about the age of the universe based on the speed of light, for example; but even if someone could convince me that this proves that the universe is billions of years old, I would have some valid reasons for questioning it based on faith.

For you see, if God was able to create Adam and Eve as adults, is it not also possible for God to create light at one point in time even though it might appear that it took Him billions of years to do so. Or are we going to limit the omnipotence of God and force Him to submit to the natural laws that HE CREATED? If God can cause the sun to stand still, as we are told that He did in Joshua 10:13, are any of these other things beyond the reach of His Divine power? The theory of evolution and the scriptures are simply not compatible with one another; and therefore, I must choose to support the Biblical record.

In Genesis 1:25, for example, we find this statement; the Bible says,

"God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw it was very good"

The phrase "after their kind" indicates that there was a line of separation between each species of animal. The lion, and the tiger, and the panther, may have all originated from one pair of cats, but there is a big difference between a cat and a chicken. This does not concern me a great deal, because those who support evolution have never been able to produce any evidence of these so called "transitional forms." Evolutionists talk about "the missing link", but the truth is that the whole chain is missing. If evolution were true, we would have millions
upon millions of these "transitional forms", but the truth is that we have never found a single one.

Michael Denton, in his book entitled "Evolution: A Theory in Crisis" summarized the absence of transitional forms in this way; he said,

"...The universal experience of palentology...[is that] while the rocks have continually yielded new and exciting and even bizzare forms of life...what they have never yielded is any of Darwin's myriads of transitional forms.   Despite the tremendous increase in geological activity in every corner of the globe and despite the discovery of many strange and hitherto unknown forms, the infinitude of connecting links has still not been discovered and the fossil record is about as discontinuous as it was when Darwin was writing the Origin. The intermediates have remained as elusive as ever and their absence remains, a century later, one of the most striking characteristics of the fossil record"

This means, of course, that they have never found them, and the reason they have never found them is because they aren't there.  There have, however, been several hoaxes that have come along from time to time.

  • In 1999, the National Geographic Magazine published an article that said that there is new evidence that feathered dinosaurs were ancestors of the first bird. It was later proven that someone had simply glued a dinosaur tail onto a primitive bird.
  • In most modern textbooks, we still find pictures of "Java Man" who was discovered by Eugene Dubois in Indonesia in 1891. What many people do not know, however, is that Java man consists only of a skullcap, a femur, three teeth and a great deal of imagination.
  • The Pilt Down man who was discovered by Charles Dawson in 1912 was later revealed to be a hoax; they even found file marks on his teeth.
  • The Nebraska man discovered in 1922 consists of only one tooth; and yet, that one tooth was used as evidence in the scopes monkey trial.

So, those pictures, in many cases, lifesize pictures, murials that appear on numerous museum walls, are simply the product of someone's imagination.

Another verse of scripture that cannot be harmonized with the theory of evolution is Genesis 2:7 which says,

"Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being"

If someone believes that God used evolution to create the world, they cannot also accept this statement to be true. They must, instead, take the position that God did not really create man out of the dust of the ground, and He really didn't cause him to fall into a deep sleep, and He didn't really create the woman as a unique creation with no animal ancestry. In other words, a person who believes in evolution is forced to come to the conclusion that the opening chapters of the book of Genesis are only figurative. This also creates another problem, because Jesus referred to this event in a literal way in Matthew 19:4, and the Apostle Paul referred to Adam and Eve as being literal people in places like Acts 17:2 and 1 Timothy 2:13.

Genesis 2:17 is another important example of a verse of scripture that cannot be harmonized with the theory of evolution. It says,

"but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die"

The Bible teaches that the world God originally created was perfect, and human suffering and death were not introduced until after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. The Apostle Paul, however, referred to Adam as a literal person, and he identified Adam as the one responsible for sin coming into this world. This is found in Romans 5:12 which says,

"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned"

Evolution teaches that there were millions of years of death and suffering prior to the existence of man, and this is not compatible with scripture. Moreover, evolution teaches that man is getting better and better, but the scriptures teach the opposite. The scriptures teach that man began in perfection; and now, he is not evolving, but rather, devolving.

It seems obvious to me that a creature such as this "Bombardier Beetle" could not have evolved, it  had to have been created at one point in time.

The Dragonfly is Another Animal That Defies Evolution.

As we all should know, fossils are often used by evolutionists to support their position, but there is strong evidence within the fossil record that supports the creationist view. We also find within the fossil record evidence that suggests that humans and dinosaurs could have coexisted. Since evolutionist like to say that the dinosaurs lived hundreds of millions of years ago, and long before humans, this causes their entire THEORY to be placed in jeopardy.

SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE

There are two things that evolution cannot begin to explain. One is the gap between nothing and matter, and the other is the gap between matter and life. The Bible teaches that God created matter "ex nihilo" which means "out of nothing."

In Genesis 1:1, we read,

"In the beginning God created the heavens and  the earth"

The Hebrew word used for "created" is the word "bara;" it applies only to God, and it means "out of nothing."    We are also told that this occurred, with the exception of the creation of man and woman, simply by God speaking it into existence. We are told in Genesis 1:3, for example, that God said 'Let there be light' and there was light.

The Psalmist said it like this in Psalms 33:6.9; he said,

"6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their hosts...9 For He spoke, and it was done"

And in Hebrews 11:3, the writer of Hebrews said,

"By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible"

This is obviously not a scientific explanation; it is a theological one, but it provides a better explanation than any scientist or evolutionist ever came up with. The Greeks used to say that this world was held up by a man named "Atlas." Their kids would accept this for a while; but eventually, they would come back and ask, "Dad, mom, what is Atlas standing on?"  So, their father or mother would say "a giant turtle."  This worked for a while; but eventually, they would come back and ask, "Dad, mom, what is the turtle standing on?"  So, their father or mother would say "a bigger turtle."  This worked for a while; but eventually, they would come back
and ask, "Dad, mom, what is the bigger turtle standing on?" So, their father or mother would say, "Get off my back kid, it's turtles all the way down!" In a similiar way, we are constantly being told that it is evolution all the way back - but all the way back to what?

It is much easier for me to believe that...

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1

This is much easier, because the likelihood of this earth and every life form on it emerging by the process of evolution, and without a Divine Designer, is astronomical.

Dr. Michael Denton, for example, wrote,

"Perhaps, in no other area of modern biology is the challenge (referring to the challenge this presents to the theory of evolution) posed by extreme complexity and ingenuity of the biological adaptations more apparent than in the fascinating new molecular world of the cell."

Scientists tell us that the simplest cell would be a cell with just 124 parts. The average is 445 parts, and they have never actually found a cell with just 124 parts, but they have speculated that one that small could have existed.

"'If we magnified a cell until it was the size of London or New York City,' Michael Denton says, 'We would find ourselves in a world of supreme technology and bewildering complexity.'"

The problem is that all we have to begin with is 124 parts that are separate from one another, kind of like finding a new corvette sitting in a crate. In order for these parts to become a cell, something must happen to bring these 124 parts together in perfect sequence. If this happens, these 124 parts called 'amino acids' will form one protein cell. Fortunately, they do come with an instruction book called DNA. The DNA, however, cannot take this information to these 124 parts and arrange them in proper order without a translator. We don't need to worry though, because this cell has within it a fax machine of sorts that is called RNA. If you've seen the famous double helix that looks like a curved ladder, one side is DNA, and the other side is RNA. The RNA can bring the information of the DNA to these 124 parts and arrange them in proper order. This can happen and does happen, but the odds of this happening by chance are astronomical. In fact, it would take a secretary typing 40 hours straight at a speed of 6,000 words per minute to transfer this much information, and she would have to do it without making a single typographical error. It is also necessary to have a protein before you can get another protein, a cell before you can get a cell, and there are 30 trillion cells in one human body. So, we find ourselves facing the classic argument of which came first the chicken or the egg.

What is going to happen after it has been proven that the theory of evolution is scientifically impossible?

We can already see those who believe in evolution turning to a theory called "Directed Panspermia" which essentially means that some little green men intentionally planted life on this planet.

Question = Why Directed Panspermia?
Answer = It is the only way to avoid the fact that we have a Divine Designer.

I suggest advancing this next video forward 3 minutes.

SOCIALLY INJURIOUS

In Genesis 1:26, we are told that God said this just before He created man; He said,

"...'Let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth'"

This means that God created us in such a way that we are superior to the animals, and we are to have dominion over the animals. If evolution is true, however, we have no right to think of ourselves as being superior to the animals, and those folks at P.E.T.A. are right when they say that chickens should be given equal rights with people. Taking it to its logical conclusion, evolution carries with it several very serious implications.

a. A Belief in Evolution Can Effect Our View of Capital Punishment

If we are simply the noble product of the survival of the fittest, why should anyone be punished for killing someone else? We don't put a lion on trial for killing a zebra, do we? We don't put a whale on trail for killing a tuna, do we? So, what's to keep us from applying the same "survival of the fittest" mentality to our own species?

Capital punishment, in case you were unaware of it, was instituted by God, not in order to be a deterrent; it was instituted by God because of the fact that man was created in the image of God. Capital punishment should be enforced, in other words, because man is of great value in the sight of God.

This is made clear in Genesis 9:6 which says,

"Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed, FOR IN THE IMAGE OF GOD HE MADE MAN"  (Emphasis Added)

b. A Belief in Evolution Can Effect Our Sense of Purpose and Meaning

If evolution is true, all we can hope for is whatever joy or pleasure we can find in this life; and so, we might as well become self-centered and pleasure seeking, because as the slogan goes "You only go around once so go for the gusto." On the other hand, if we believe that we were created by God, in the image of God, and for the purpose of glorifying God now and for all of eternity; then, we can agree with Jesus when He said,

"...store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal" (Matthew 6:20)

Consequently, we will be able to live every day of our lives, regardless of how difficult  it might be, with a sense of meaning and purpose.

c. A Belief in Evolution Can Effect Our Concept of the Family

When the Lord God said, "...'It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him" in Genesis 2:18, He was thinking ahead to the creation of the family. In fact, the phrase "one flesh" is even described by some Bible scholars as referring to procreation. Fish have schools, dogs have packs, lion's have a pride, and geese have a gaggle, but the family is a distinct institution created by God for the human race. God's design is for one man to be with one woman for life and for them to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. But if evolution is true, we can change that; instead of Adam and Eve, we can have Adam and Joe or Eve and Sue. Dolphins, by the way, eat their young; so, if we decide to embrace evolution, who are we to say  that cannibalism is wrong? Evolution, as I see it, will destroy every society that accepts it.
