God’s Magnificent Creation

 

 

The debate between Creation and Evolution frequently makes the news in Texas because pro-creation people actively try to get their view taught in Texas Schools. The subject comes up when new text books are being chosen and the debate becomes pretty heated.

 

Have you decided yet how you feel on the subject?

 

Did you know there are over 70 passages in the Bible, besides those found in the Book of Genesis, that testify to the fact that God created the world and all that is in it?

 

In Exodus 20:11-12, there is distinct evidence that creation took place in exactly six days.

 

“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”NASB

 

God also went to great lengths to tell us in Genesis 1: 5,8,13,19, 23, & 31 how long a day was. He said “ evening and morning” was a day.

 

If this still leaves you with a question in your mind, keep reading. There is evidence that God merely spoke and the world came into existence. Psalm 33:6-9 says,

 

                  “He merely spoke, and the heavens were formed and all the galaxies of stars. He made the oceans, pouring them into his vast reservoirs. Let everyone in all the world-men,women and children-fear the Lord and stand in awe of him. For when he but spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command!”TLB

 

Colossians 1:15-17 says,

 

       “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see — such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”NLT

 

When you look at the stars and planets that are visible at night, think about Isaiah 40:26 which says, “Look up into the heavens! Who created all these stars? As a shepherd leads his sheep, calling each by its pet name, and counts them to see that none are lost or strayed, so God does with stars and planets!”TLB

 

The evidence multiplies as Scriptures from the Old Testament and the New Testament are examined. Hebrews 1:10

 

                  “ . . . In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of  your hands.”NIV

 

Revelation 4:11,

 

                  “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”NASU

 

The miracle of creation is also relevant in our world today. Psalm 104:13-18 says:

 

                   “He sends rain upon the mountains and fills the earth with fruit. The tender grass grows up at his command to feed the cattle, and there are fruit trees, vegetables, and grain for man to cultivate, and wine to make him glad, and olive oil as lotion for his skin, and bread to give him strength. The Lord planted the cedars of Lebanon. They are tall and flourishing. There the birds make their nests, the storks in the firs. High in the mountains are pastures for the wild goats, and rock-badgers burrow in among the rocks and find protection there.“TLB

 

God is involved in the creation of all human beings. Psalm 139:13-15 says He creates every child in the mother’s Womb.

 

                  “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous-and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion!”TLB

 

Did you know that God still speaks today and the elements obey him? Jeremiah 51:15-16 says:

 

                  “It is He {God}who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens. When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings forth the wind from His storehouses.”NASB

 

 The evidence of God’s Creation is overwhelming! Nehemiah 9:6 sums it up well:

 

         “Thou alone art the Lord. Thou hast made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them. Thou dost give life to all of them And the heavenly host bows down before Thee.”NASB
